To collect domestic wastewater, a vacuum sewage system is being installed on the new housing estate. In Germany, most people are familiar with this type of sewage system from airplanes, ships and trains, while in Scandinavian countries it is also widespread as a system of municipal wastewater collection. In Germany, too, around 400 local authorities are already partially using vacuum sewers and some of these systems have already been operating successfully for twenty to thirty years.

Depending on the homeowner, the vacuum system can either be installed right into the building or the building can use the conventional system of wastewater collection up to a subterranean collection chamber.
