The project

Ausblick auf Knittlingen vom Neubaugebiet aus

Within the scope of the DEUS 21 project, which is being funded by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research BMBF, and conducted in cooperation with the town of Knittlingen, a unique form of municipal water management is being implemented on a new housing estate "Am Römerweg", which is the only one of its kind so far in Germany. Advanced technologies are being applied to about 100 housing plots to start with (DEUS 21 estate), which guarantee an environmentally-compatible, sustainable and at the same time cost-efficient operation of the water infrastructure.

DEUS 21 stands for DEcentralised Urban Infrastructure System.

The information provided here aims to give interested parties, property developers and builder-owners basic information about how DEUS 21 functions and what impacts it has on installations in the houses. DEUS 21 has been designed so that builder-owners have the possibility to select only individual elements or use the complete range of innovative solutions.
